Supportive Therapy Empowering People© (STEP) was established in 2009, for the purpose of providing quality therapeutic services to children, adolescents and families. We offer individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, couple and marital therapy. We work with single families, blended families. We have assisted families in adoptive and foster situations.
Mr. Reginald Vilmenay, the founder of STEP, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Mr. Vilmenay obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Human Relations at Pace University, New York, and received his Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University, New York. He is presently an adjunct professor at USF teaching classes for the Master’s Level SW program.
Mr. Vilmenay has more than 15 years of experience providing support to youth and their families. He has worked as a therapist in various settings such as residential facilities, schools, outpatient clinics, and crisis centers. Presently, he has his own private practice and is known for using positive approaches to encourage and reinforce good behavior among youth. Mr. Vilmenay’s work was featured in the South Shore News in November 2010, Tampa Bay Tribune and Ice Cream Magazine.
He is also an adjuct profesor at University of South Florida’s Social Work Program since 2014.
STEP© has contracted with numerous, well-established agencies throughout Hillsborough County to provide quality therapeutic services. These agencies include:

* STEP has provided therapy to individuals referred through Hillsborough Circuit Court 13.

In 2015 STEP expanded its office space and now has over 9 clinicians and 2 USF student interns offering therapy to children, teenagers, adolescents and families. The services are offered in English, French, Haitian Creole and Spanish.
