Shannon Aguilar,is a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern, who earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of South Florida in 2013. She has passed her clinical licensure exam and is working to complete her clinical supervision to obtain her Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) status. Shannon has practiced case management, as well as outpatient therapy in the community. For two years, she was employed by Hillsborough County Schools as a School Social Worker, where she worked with middle school students and their families. Shannon joined the staff at Supportive Therapy in April of 2017. However, she also completed an internship with Supportive Therapy, while she was working on her Master’s degree. Currently, Shannon is working out of STEP’s secondary location on North Florida Avenue in Tampa. Her clients include school aged children, adults, couples and families. She works with her clients using a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral, Person-centered therapy, heavily influenced by Mindfulness-based practices. Her approach is culturally sensitive and empowering. This allows the client to achieve greater independence and to better cope with any current and future problems they may face.

Our most recent toydrive was another success. We received over $8,000 in cash donations as well as numerous toy donations. We were able to put smiles on the faces of numerous children and families. We love being able to provide cheers during the holiday season!
