The state of Florida requires that all mental health professional registered interns, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, Marriage & Family Therapists and Psychologists must have several years of post-licensed practice and complete a 12-hour course on supervision in order to be determined a “Qualified Supervisor”.
I completed this course in 2007 and offer weekly or bi-weekly supervision for those who need it towards their LCSW. My supervision style covers clinical as well as supportive. Discuss issues regarding transference, burnout, boundaries, NASW ethics, and working with micro and macro systems. If interested, supervision also addresses beginning a private practice, understanding the challenges and benefits of being a small business owner and reviewing the principles to “Become a Wealthy Therapist” as taught by Casey Truffoe.
