Over the weekend we were able to get a few donations and we are very close to 20% of our goal. That means we are near $1,000 donated to STEP from friends and families who believe in our mission. I am very thankful to each and everyone who makes a contribution not only for the financial commitment made but also the support given to our efforts in attempting to provide Christmas cheer to say many families this holiday season.
It was actually overwhelming to get some of the feedback from my friends who wrote and said ” It was my pleasure donating. I applaud your efforts. The least I can do is make monetary donations since I’m not as active as I should be.” Another friend wrote, “ just trying to help. You guys have done at least 10 times as much in time and effort setting this up. Kudos to you.” One more: “you’re doing great things and we need to support it.” Those words were really touching and reminded me again that although people have their different political views, religions, sexual orientations, sport teams, etc we all agree on the importance of happiness and being able to make a small difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
