We are having an Open House at the office today to share with different providers some of the services we offer to the community. Its important to be seen in the community as this helps grow your brand and business. Of course I am hoping this leads to a donation or two as well.
An Electric Can Opener. What is the significance of that you may ask. Last year I asked a 14 year old boy what he wanted for Christmas and he said an electric can opener. You can imagine my surprise so I asked him “Why?” He stated his grandmother had arthritis and had difficulties opening up cans. Needless to say, we purchased that grandmother the best electric can opener we could find at Walmart. That story made me wonder who else was not able to experience the pleasantries of what the holidays were meant to be for those who celebrated them. The vision to help other children and families during the holidays was created. Please help keep that alive by sharing this with others and encouraging them to visit https://supportivetherapy.net
This morning, I have a few leads with two of my Pace University Alumni which may have some great rewards. Last year, Lloyd O’Callaghan was able to get me some autographed baseball memorabilia from the Tampa Bay Rays. Those items caused a 12 year old boy to squeal in joy as he received a BJ UPTON autographed baseball. Those moments are what makes these efforts worthwhile. I don’t like having to follow up with my friends and I feel like sometimes they avoid my phone calls during this time of the year because they know whats coming next, “How much you pledging for my TOY DRIVE?” but I will continue to do it. I feel like the dreaded bill collector sometimes, LOL. But the end results are worth it.

The Open House went well. We had a nice turn out of local professionals and we were able to share some of the services we offer to the community. Of course I was not shy to ask for pledges towards the Toy Drive and fortunately a few people gave for the cause. I was also pleasantly surprised to see 2 donations come through the PayPal account, www.supportivetherapy.net . Shannon, one of the interns, stated she was told by a friend “a check is on the way.” That definitely makes me happy and a bit relieved.
